To Dream the Impossible Dream

I'm not going to make my goal of 80 miles for August.  It just isn't going to happen.

Honestly, I don't know what possessed me to think that I could reach this amount of miles when I'm not running... and when I'm in my third trimester of pregnancy... and when it's hot.  I'm already too hot.

Even though I have been walking (almost) daily, every time that I get online, I see that I'm falling farther and farther behind my goal.  And really, I don't have the time to walk even farther every day to try to catch up.  Do you realize how long it takes to walk 5 miles?  I'll tell you, it takes (me) an hour and 40 minutes.  And after an hour of walking, my feet and back are aching, so I'm not planning to add another 40 minutes to that.

But if I'm walking for two... does that mean that I can double my miles?

I say sure, double your miles! ;)

Actually, 80 miles is a HUGE goal. You're doing fantastic doing what you can. Keep moving. Strive toward 80 and be proud of how far you go. If it's not 80, so what... you're still moving! :)

Definitely agree that your miles count twice since baby is doing them too! If that's the case, you really only need to hit 40, which is probably where I'll end up with my 50 mile goal. I got behind a bit too and you're right, when you're walking it takes forever to catch up! The awesome thing is that you're getting out there every day. It definitely motivates me so keep on moving!

I still think you are awesome even walking 5 miles while in your third trimester. Running is going to come so much easier for you after birth because of all of your exercise now! You rock girl! And yes, double your mileage....you are walking for two now.
