Carb-load at the Food Court

Yes, I did eat my dinner at a mall food court last night.  I didn't have much to work with and got pizza from Sbarro and a breadstick.  It didn't fill me up, so I got my first Blizzard from Dairy Queen in over 4 years and ate it on the way to the concert .  Excellent choices, I know.  Guess what?  I don't even care!

We didn't get home from the concert until after midnight (the concert was FABULOUS and if you ever have a chance to see Billy/Elton together, then you should!), so I didn't get to start my run as early as I wanted.  I chose my favorite 3 mile loop around a lake (man-made) near my home and did it three times.  There were plenty of other runners, but I only got passed once.  And it was a dude... so that's okay in my book.  I don't want to get passed by girls.  But all of the other girl runners were running the opposite direction of me, so they just got a "Morning", if they looked up.  Some people don't look up and that bothers me.  It's not like you don't see me running towards you!  Why don't you acknowledge me as another runner?  A kindred spirit??  I'm always waiting with a smile for them, and when they won't look up I want to trip them.  Is that bad?

I did my 9 miles in 1:31:03.  I was shooting for under 1:30, but close enough considering I ran a mile farther than was on my training schedule (I've had to bump up my miles one week with the new 1/2 that I'm doing).  I'm not a very faster runner.  And I'm okay with that.

I truly believe in always acknowledging other runners. It's almost like a "we're in this together" kind of smile/wave. I hear ya.

Awesome time on the 9 miles!

P.S. Can't wait to run with you in the fall!

Hi! I found your blog through Christy's blog. I know how much it stinks to write and not have anyone read it, so I decided to become Follower #7! Bye! P.S. I'll write more next time, I promise!!

WAIT! You aw Elton John and Billy Joel?! I grew up in the 70's. They were 2 of my favorite performers, and still are. I'm officially jealous.

Oh man, Sbarro's Pizza? I haven't had that in forever. Yummmm....so good.

Glad you had fun at your concert; sounds like a lot of fun!

Sometimes I don't look up just because I am in so much pain!

How was that Blizzard? I haven't had one in years, but the commercials on TV have made my 9 year old dying for one!
